Gond art is the paintings of Pardhan Gonds, the indigenous people living near Madhya Pradesh in Central India. The word Gond literally means a member of a Dravidian or pre Dravidian people of central India. Tree of Life is one of the main motifs that you see in the background of the main figure, along with the peacock, the deer and fishes signifying human oneness with nature. The paintings were originally done with natural dyes on the walls of homes as an art in story telling but have now moved to paper and canvases. Headstand or Shirshasana practiced by this Curvy Gond woman in her traditional Gond dress, is an inversion pose in yoga, which offers numerous benefits, including:
